Day 31: A little restaurant on the side of highway 180 northwest of Agua Dolce, Veracruz, Mexico to Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico

We were woken up by the ladies opening the restaurant, they laughed at us and we giggled back laughing at ourselves for sleeping on the floor.

We got a great early jump to the day and covered some needed miles to get to our destination for the day, Palenque. It was raining when we started on the road, but it became much better weather as the day progressed.

Today I saw the old world and the new world when we passed a guy on horseback textmessaging. It was such an amazing image. There were many straight roads today winding through the mexican states of Veracruz, Tabasco and finally Chiapas.

Our lunch consisted of tortillas, queso, and tuna, a great little combination.

Finally we arrived at our destination mayabell, after not being able to find because it was located in the national park. We stopped at the gate to the national park and asked us to pay the enterece fee, we thought it was the enterence to the Palenque ruins and turned around only to find out later it truly was in the national park.

When we did arrive at Mayabell and got settled into our hammicas open air bungalow we were truly in paradise.
